June Member’s Event – Athens Market Taverna
Member Event!
The Culinary Historians of San Diego present our June Members’ Mixer downtown San Diego at Athens Market Taverna, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on June 19, 2024. Join us!
Athens Market Taverna opened in 1967 in the backroom of the Athens Market grocery store at 414 E Street. At the time, the original taverna was known as the only Greek restaurant in San Diego. In 1985, second-generation owner Mary Pappas reopened the taverna in its present location in the historic Senator Hotel building at First and West F Streets. In the early 1980s, many downtown businesses had to close or relocate for the incoming Horton Plaza Shopping Center.
We’ll have a private banquet room in this long-standing downtown restaurant, where Greek wines and hors d’oeuvres will be served buffet-style. Come join us!
Tickets are $35 per person. Seating is limited to 35 guests, so reserve your spot today!
