About Barbara Baxter
Since Barbara Baxter studied wine academically at the Sorbonne in Paris, she has continued her inquiry into the heritage of wine ever since. She has created visitor education programs for Francis Ford Coppola’s Rubicon Estate, and has worked at the prestigious Sterling Vineyards and Opus One, also making wine in Napa Valley. Barbara is the editor of Planet Wine, has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, and has lectured at the Getty Malibu, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Huntington Library, UC Berkeley, UC SanDiego, Athenaeum Arts & Music Library, La Jolla where she presides over “Flicks on the Bricks,” their outdoor wine and movie festival.

Culinary Historians of San Diego (CHSD) is a nonprofit organization that provides the public with a history of food and drink and their roles in society, both locally and worldwide. Membership in this non-profit organization supports both CHSD activities and the culinary collection of the San Diego Public Library.
