The Culinary Historians of San Diego present “What’s So Controversial About GMO Foods?” by Dr. John T. Lang, at 10:30am, October 19, 2019, in the Neil Morgan Auditorium of the San Diego Central Library. The event is free and open to the public. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation.
Dr. Lang will explore the science and myth that surrounds the most bitterly contested innovation in agriculture — genetically modified food.

His major interest is the sociological study of food, which serves as a lens for investigating key questions of consumption, culture and trust. He is the author of the book, What’s So Controversial about Genetically Modified Food?
